While visions of bellinis danced in her head…..

Ring Ring….

Awake to the sound of the phone. It’s Sister One with a wakeup call to Sister Two to get up and ready for Brunch at Angelina’s!

(shower, hair, maxi dress, sandals, purse)

FAST FORWARD (10 minutes late, eek !)

Dazed and hungry Sister Two looks to Sister One for breakfast suggestions because S1 has already been staring at the menu for 15 minutes.

“Social Brunch, it’s easy peezy. $30 per person you get a pizza, two entrees, and a carafe of Bellinis or Mimosas”

DREAMS do come true!  DONE!

Angelina’s Pizzeria cool blue, modern interiors is truly a sight for tired eyes on a beautiful Sunday morning. Nestled ininterior design the new Los Olivos Shopping Center off Irvine Center Drive (drive the opposite side of the 405 from Irvine Spectrum), Angelina’s Pizzeria features a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and a lovely staff ready to serve up the freshly made Bellinis!

All hunger pains were betting on the Social Brunch, a newly introduced brunch special that has patrons choose from one pizza (we chose the breakfast pizza with Mozzarella DiBufala, egg, and Guanciale), two entrees (we fancied the Frittata Patate E Salsiccia – a fritatta filled with sausage, white onions and mint with russet potatoes). For the second entree we indulged in a decadent calzone made of fried pizza dough filled with strawberries, bananas and Nutella. Also included – a carafe of either Mimosas or Bellinis (we chose the Bellinis since it’s not something you see on every Sunday Brunch menu).

breakfast pizza eggsA delight in every bite, the Social Brunch left these two sisters feeling sweet and satisfied. The Bellinis were made with fresh peach juice, the frittata with potatoes were fluffy and seasoned perfectly, and the pizza with egg on top is our new fave brunch item. We saved the best for last though – this amazing calzone, though we were full, was attacked by two forks and begging for mercy. The chocolate-hazelnut (Nutella) drizzle was like a symphony to our tastebuds. We lied to ourselves and said we needed the Vitamin C (strawberries) and Potassium (bananas) – don’t want to get a cold or poor circulation!

All this good food did not overshadow the amazing care and service of the Angelina’s staff. They were purely passionate about every menu item and even graced us with a couple of Italian calzoneliqueurs post meal that we just couldn’t say no too – after all, it is Sunday Funday!

Social Brunch features:

1 Pizza + 2 entrees + carafe of Mimosas or Bellinis = $30 per person
