goat cheesecake at Pueblo.

Pueblo, located at the OC Mart Mix/SOCO Collection, is like taking a mini vacation to Spain – nibbling on tapas in an authentic environment with warm interiors, Spanish comfort food, and exceptional service.

On a weekday lunch break with friends, Pueblo was the perfect choice as the SOCO Collection makes for easy breezy parking and a centralized location (right off the 405 freeway).

The menu was a no-brainer as the prix-fixe $19 lunch was a hand-in-the-air “Yes, Please!” You received a tapa, entree, and dessert! For just $5 more you can add a wine cocktail – hand-in-the-air again! The offerings were exactly what we wanted :

  • tapas:  smoked tuna with crostini and frisee salad
  • entree: shrimp and chorizo paella enough for two
  • dessert: goat cheesecake drizzled in honey
  • drink: tinto de verano – wine cocktail with tempranillo, apple, lime, club soda

There wasn’t a smudge of food left on the plate! ~ Thanks to friends and the “we share food law” we don’t feel so guilty. We

also added an additional tapa to share, Higos y Cordero ~ figs, smoked lamb bacon, payoyo cheese, marcona. Are you salivating yet?

The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor dining and additional seating at the bar. The staff is pleasant and very attentive, making the experience very carefree and enjoyable.

Pueblo is located at the OC Mart Mix at 3321 Hyland Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA (714)340-5775
